British Winter Championships

Day 1 – Thursday 15th December

Men’s 4 x 10 Medley Relay

Congratulations to Ben Hunt (100m Back – 1:04.11), Hayden Thomas (100m Breast – 1:06.57), Mason Arnold (100m Fly – 57.53) and Lee Baker (100m Free – 52.13).

Swimming against the best teams in the UK, including squads from the ASA Performance centres in Bath & Loughborough Univ, the boys produced some great split times and the experience they gain from swimming at this level are moments to be treasured. Congratulations to all.

Karl Batorski

Not having the greatest preparation, the big man produced an outstanding swim in the heats of the Men’s 00m Butterfly to qualify for the final in a time of 53.45 secs and qualified for the final.

Competing against the Top UK fly swimmers, in the final Karl gave an indication of what can be achieved even after being ill most of the previous week. Placed third at the final turn, Karl’s lack of preparation took effect, however his time of 53.56 was only just down on his heat time and placed him 8th overall.

This is an outstanding display against the UK’s best swimmers and his swims should be an inspiration to all our Club swimmers, to show what can be achieved with hard work and an outstanding competitive attitude.
