Penguins achieved an outstanding result in the first round of The Arena League, the highest level League that Penguins competes in. Competing in the Premier Division of the “London” area league and they were swiming against some of the top swimming Teams in the UK.
On the night, Penguins finished 5th, tying on points with local rivals Bishops Stortford, but taking the higher placing on a higher number of 1st place finishes over the 50 event programme.

Individually there were outstanding times set.
On the night, 1st places were at a premium, however the Boys 15/U squad of Alessandro Rioda, Tyler Jackson, Ethan Peirce and Daniel Monk dominated events, between them claiming 4 of our 5 1st place finishes, winning both the Medley and Freestyle Relays. Alessandro Rioda claimed an individual double, winning both the 100m Butterfly (58.35) and the 100m Freestyle (55.14).
Georgie Pryor claimed the Clubs other 1st place in the Girls Open 100m Butterfly (62.56), in addition she also claimed two of the Club’s three 2nd place finishes in the Girls Open 100m Backstroke (63.92) and the Girls Open 100m Freestyle (59.25).
Max Arnold was the Clubs other 2nd place finisher in the Boys 13/U 100m Backstroke (1:07.00). Max was also a key element in the Boys 13/U relay squads with James Gourpinar, William White, Glennon Lee and Max To where they finished 3rd in both the Medley and Freestyle Relays. Glennon Lee was also placed 3rd in the Boys 13/U 100m Breast (1:17.17). Not to be outdone by the boys, Misty Eren returned to her best in the Girls 13/U 100 Breast (1:19.71) to claim 3rd place.
It is worth noting the Club’s performance in the relay events where swimmers were producing outstanding split times, Jasmine Hall, Sophia Dixon, Joe Quelch making their Arena debuts.
